Our Story

Where it all began…

As a designer, one of the things I was looking forward to when planning our wedding was the invitation. I remember searching website upon website and endless trips to stationery stores, but never being able to find that one perfect design. I finally grew tired of looking and thought, “why not just do it on my own?” So I did! In the beginning, it was just supposed to be the monogram and invitations. Then came the “Travel Guide” for our out-of-town guests. Before I knew it, I had designed programs, table numbers, placecards, favors, a slide show, card box and thank you cards! Without the help of my, then, fiancé and good friend December who helped out with the cutting and assembly, as well as my sister for her calligraphy on all the outer envelopes, I’d probably still be working on the components today. It was a lot of work, and our place was covered with ribbon and glue, but I loved every minute of it!

I remember the moment when I stepped into the reception hall and saw how every little detail had come together. It was everything I envisioned it to be and it was perfect! Guests took notice and the word of mouth referrals began. Soon enough, Sealed with a J was formed! Since then, our work has been showcased at bridal expos, craft shows and, most recently, the ChicagoStyle Weddings Magazine.
